Description

Witco is currently hiring for a Program Specialist to oversee our work service programs at our Caldwell Location. This position is essential for providing meaningful work experiences and personal growth opportunities for individuals with disabilities by fostering skill development while maintaining regulatory compliance. This role is a balance of administrative duties, staff supervision, and direct support for participants. The Program Specialist plays a significant role in ensuring that the work service programs operate safely, effectively, and inclusively.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Coordinates and implements activities for participating individuals of the workshop, matching the participants' skills with available production work

Supervises shop staff and coordinates the implementation of services ensuring the best vocational outcomes to participants; reviews program caseload to prioritizes workload.

Assigns individuals to specific tasks, such as shredding, sorting, assembling, labeling, or hand packing products or components

Demonstrates job duties to disabled individuals and observes workers performing tasks to ensure understanding of job duties.

Oversees time studies to monitor and track participant progress and outcomes.

Completes annual review meetings with State Program Monitors to update and review participant goals and progress.

Maintains a safe and effective shop environment for participants and staff, as defined in policies and procedures, and in conformance with CARF standards, State and Federal regulations (OSHA)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and supervise shop staff

Works closely with program participants to ensure their safety, well-being, and personal growth

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines

Monitor and track participant progress and outcomes

Collaborate with families, caregivers, and external service providers to create individualized plans for participants

Maintain a safe and clean shop environment

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in in human services field, mental health, social services, or related field.

3-5 years supervisory/managerial experience

Excellent verbal and written communication.

Intermediate computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Community Service & Case Management Experience preferred

Familiarity with vocational workshops, supported employment, and integrated employment practices is preferred.
