What You’ll Be Doing

Direct Support Professionals provide individualized support in residential and community settings. Depending on the needs of the individuals supported, duties may include:

  • Assisting with daily routines and life skills
  • Encouraging independence and personal choice
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Supporting participation in community activities
  • Assisting with personal care when needed
  • Maintaining documentation and safety standards
  • Helping create a safe, respectful, and engaging environment
