Home Life is a private, non-profit organization in Corvallis, Oregon, that provides safe, integrated community living services. We empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by offering support that enhances their quality of life.
Position Overview:
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. They help with daily living activities, foster skill development, and encourage community participation, promoting independence and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow individualized support plans, ensuring safety and well-being.
- Assist Supported Individuals with personal care tasks such as dressing, bathing, and hygiene while promoting dignity and independence.
- Support meal planning and preparation according to dietary needs.
- Help Supported Individuals achieve personal goals while fostering independence in daily life.
- Facilitate community involvement by accompanying Supported Individuals to appointments, community events, or recreational activities.
- Administer medications and assist with healthcare needs, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Accurately document daily activities, progress, and any incidents in a timely manner.
- Support behavior management and emotional regulation.
- Aid Supported Individuals in managing finances responsibly, respecting their preferences and choices.
- Collaborate with team members, families, and medical professionals to provide person-centered support.

Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to pass a criminal history check.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain professionalism.
- Commitment to continuous training and development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in a related field.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Complete an employment application at our Home Life Career Center.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen (Home Life does not test for THC in the pre-employment drug screening).
- Have an understanding of basic computer operations.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
