Blooms, LLC is an agency of trained Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and Job Coaches (JCs) based in the Portland metro and surrounding counties, in Oregon. Members of our leadership team have been working with the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (ID/DD) community since 1998, and our staff of fantastic skills trainers, community inclusion specialists and supported employment specialists have varied backgrounds in education, caregiving, mentorship, and the arts.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a caring and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. In this role, you will assist adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities in their daily activities, helping them build skills and foster independence. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on others' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance with daily living activities, including support with personal appointments (doctors, dentist, etc), running personal errands, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
- Support individuals in achieving their personal goals as identified in their person centered plan and promoting independence
- Facilitate community involvement, including transportation to activities (participation in activities is required) and appointments
- Monitor health and safety as identified in their safety plan and/or risk protocols.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with individuals, families/guardians, and team members
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and progress toward goals
- Participate in weekly team meetings and monthly all-staff meetings

Required Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required)
- Reliable transportation for self AND passenger (required)
- Ability to pass background check (required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities
- CPR and first aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with electronic communication such as email, text messaging, Google suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive) and Connecteams
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting others
