Skills Trainer/Direct Support Worker

• Assist participant in all activities of daily living/hygiene assistance, and changing clothes if needed
• Maintain knowledge of diet and allergies. Assist participant when eating, as necessary
• Assists participant with toileting
• Ability and willingness to perform cleaning tasks as assigned
• Ensure new ISP or other care documents are reviewed, acknowledged, and are understood in a timely manner
• Meets the safety needs of the participant and uses equipment safely and properly
• Document and update records accurately and carry out all assignments as requested
• Ability to lead activities individually and in large group settings and do so with a positive and engaging attitude
• Does not receive or write orders from a physician
• Notifies management of any acute or pertinent changes in participant condition
• Does not administer medications, prefilled insulin syringes, or perform any other medical procedures
• Does not perform any sterile or intravenous procedures
• Does not perform procedures requiring the knowledge, training, and skill of a Licensed Nurse
• Maintains confidentiality regarding the participant and any family/caregivers
• Performs all skills and procedures competently and within the regulations and licensure laws of the State, company policies, and other applicable Federal and State laws
• Must display good emotional health and be able to perform basic physical actions required for Caregiving, such as standing, stooping, bending, etc.
• Must be able to read, follow written and verbal instructions, and document all care given.
• Must meet all agency requirements, including but not limited to passing a criminal background check, and social security number verification
• Possess and maintain current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or obtain within 60 days of employment
• Should demonstrate flexibility in acceptance of assignments and cooperative attitude toward providing services

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a minimum of high school education or GED.
• Preferred minimum of two years of work experience as a caregiver (including private care, homecare agencies, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, etc.)
• Must display good emotional health and be able to perform basic physical actions required for caregiving, such as standing, bending, stooping, etc.
• Must be able to read, follow written and verbal instructions, and document all care given.
• Must have at least two (2) references from previous employers (not family members).
• Must meet all agency requirements, including but not limited to passing a criminal background check, and social security number verification.
• We are hiring for someone available to work Monday through Friday during the hours of 7am - 5pm, looking for quality part time and full time employees, we can create a flexible schedule to meet both our needs.
